Disco Halal label boss Moscoman has released the first single from his upcoming album, Caviar, which is due out on 12 September.
The single, Eagle Rocks, was unveiled on 15 August, and is described as capturing the ‘frustration of chasing something that never quite lands’.
“I was in LA physically, and emotionally stuck between a rock and a hard place – and Eagle Rocks represents both,” Moscoman commented on the new single. “It’s the sound of me chasing the dream, but never quite catching it.”
The album, Caviar, was created over a two-year period, and marks a shift from Moscoman’s previous electronic style toward arrangements built for live band performance, with live bass, drums, and guitar, as well as minimal use of synthesisers.
“This album feels like a road trip,” he explains. “It started as a more experimental, shoegaze-meets-dance-floor concept, but evolved through collaborations and production refinements into something more polished yet still raw.”

Inspired by his love of artists such as The Cure, The Smiths, Smashing Pumpkins, and Cocteau Twins, the 10-track album blends nostalgia with modern production, and features contributions from COMA, SCUDFM, Tom Sanders, Justin Strauss, The Golden Dregs and Talee.
“Some of the songs on this album came from a time when I felt like I’d gotten away from my own soul,” he says. “I was making choices that didn’t match who I really was, and over time that turned into a lot of regret. Writing these songs was a way to look back on those moments – not to stay stuck there, but to understand them and forgive myself.
“The rest of the album is about what happens after that finding my way back to myself, being present, and actually enjoying life again. I hope people hear it and realise it’s possible to lose yourself for a while and still come back”.
This year also marks 10 years of his Disco Halal imprint, with a label compilation said to be forthcoming.
