Techno artist Enrico Sangiuliano has unveiled a new EP, Discipline, on his Ninetozero label.
The EP includes the track The Techno Code, which has been a much-played secret weapon in recent months, as well as contributions from Zimmz (with the track We Build And Reset) and Secret Cinema & About Sofiya (with You Know What I Was Thinking).
Commenting on The Techno Code, Sangiuliano said, “The Techno Code is built around the theme of discipline. I wanted to create a driving, stripped-down techno track with a voiceover that guides you through it—almost like a set of rules.
“The voice, with its slightly arrogant and commanding tone, lays out the structure and meaning of the track, but with a touch of self-irony. It knows it’s leading you through a fat, giant, classic techno track—and that’s what makes it fun. This track was born on the dancefloor. The first raw version debuted at Futur Festival in Turin in July 2024. From there, I kept playing it, refining it, and testing it at almost every show. It became the track I played the most before its release, shaped by real-time energy and feedback.”
Sangiuliano also paid tribute to Zimmz, About Sofiya and Secret Cinema, with the latter’s contribution “fitting perfectly” with the theme of the EP.
“Secret Cinema creates timeless material with unique style,” he said. “So refined. It’s the story and the experience accumulated in a lifetime transformed into sound, it’s a lesson to be heard.”
