Ashley Beedle is one of electronic music‘s most iconic artists, from his defining roles in X-Press 2, Black Science Orchestra and The Ballistic Brothers, to being referenced in Daft Punk‘s Teachers. He’s also part of the No’West Production Team with wife, Jo Wallace and long time musical partner, Darren Morris.
Recently, however, things have taken a turn for the worse, health-wise, for the 61-year-old.
He has been battling Stage 4 prostate cancer for the past four years, with his last treatment occurring in October 2023. Unfortunately, in early November 2023, Ashley experienced a brain bleed and seizure due to a ruptured brain mass. A subsequent 16-hour operation in February 2024 to remove the mass resulted in a major stroke, leading to loss of movement in his right leg and arm and affecting his speech.
Despite these setbacks, Beedle has shown remarkable resilience during his recovery in King’s College’s Critical Care unit. His speech is gradually improving, and he has been discharged from the residential rehab centre. However, he will remain in a nursing home until suitable assisted living accommodations can be arranged through the local council.
The prognosis indicates that Beedle’s right-side mobility will not fully return, and he will need a wheelchair and full-time care for daily activities.
As his family face the dual challenges of medical and financial burdens, they have launched a GoFundMe campaign to support his ongoing needs. The campaign aims to ensure Ashley’s future comfort and access to necessary resources, such as private physiotherapy, wheelchair-accessible furniture, and a hospital bed.
The GoFundMe donations will directly contribute to providing Ashley with a secure and comfortable living situation during this challenging time.

Separate to the GoFundMe initiative, fundraising events are currently being organised by David Homes, Faith and X-Press 2, details of which will be revealed in due course. Get well soon, Ashley!
