New live venue, Outset, set to open in Chicago in June

Chicago‘s newest live music venue, Outset, located on the outskirts of Lincoln Yards, is set to open its doors on 1 June, with artists such as Parliament Funkadelic ft George Clinton, Thievery Corporation, and Pussy Riot among the acts featured on the venue’s initial show calendar.

The 750-capacity, 10,000 square food venue has been designed to ‘offer the production value of a large-scale venue coupled with the vibe of an intimate and up-close setting’, according to a press release, and features a D&B XSL soundsystem and state-of-the-art lighting, all designed with the music fan in mind.

The venue is being opened by Auris Presents, led by Nick Karounos, Stuart Hackley and John Curley, which already operates venues such as Concord Music Hall and Radius. Auris Presents will be responsible for music and programming at Outset.

“For us, music is how we make memories,” commented Stuart Hackley, co-founder, Auris Presents. “We’re excited to bring more experiences, artists, and moments to life as we add to the fabric of Chicago’s musical landscape for decades to come.”

Prior to its official opening, the venue’s 10,000 square foot outdoor space will play host to a variety of local food trucks, beverages, artist merchandise, fan focused activations, and community events.

Other artists to feature in Outset‘s opening run include Bonobo (DJ Set – 14 June), Rawayana (16 June), Os Mutantes (7 July), Franc Moody (27 July) and Unknown Mortal Orchestra (14 and 15 August).
