Check out this incredible video mashup of 2 Many DJs’ ‘As Heard on Radio Soulwax Pt. 2’

Bringing together elements from some 114 tracks, 2 Many DJsAs Heard on Radio Soulwax Pt. 2 set the template for the bootleg/mashup/bastard pop movement of the early 2000s.

Featuring artists as diverse as Dolly Parton, Basement Jaxx, Velvet Underground, Vitalic, Salt ‘n’ Pepa and Destiny’s Child, it’s one of the best mixes of all time in our book – an experimental odyssey that showcases the musical knowledge of Soulwax members David and Stephen Dewaele as well as being great fun to boot.

As Stephen told this website a couple of years back (check out the full interview here), “Even if 2 Many DJs had never happened, there would still have been parties at which myself and David would be DJing. We’ve never been the guys that danced, we were the ones that made music for other people to dance to.

“I guess with 2 many DJs, I don’t think it will ever run its course. We’ll keep doing it, maybe the size of it will change. For a lot of people, it’s sort of this ‘legendary thing’. We still get a lot of offers in, and financially for us, it’s been amazing, as you say.

“With 2 Many DJs, you can play Fontaines D.C. to some mad Spanish techno heads, and they will be like ‘what the f**k was that?’”

Back in 2014, to round off a series of audiovisual mixes released through their Radio Soulwax internet radio station and app, 2 Many DJs unveiled a simply stunning video, which brings As Heard on Radio Soulwax Pt 2. to life in the best way possible – a “single hour of visual mayhem”, as the group described it at the time.

The video features some iconic moments –  Salt-N-Pepa and The Stooges trading lyrics, Michael Jackson adopting The Residents’ eyeball mask on the cover of Thriller, Queen of Japan morphing into Kiss during I Was Made For Loving You, and as for Peaches’ contribution, F**k The Pain Away? We’ll let you enjoy that yourselves. 😉
