Phil Kieran has just dropped his entire back catalogue on to Bandcamp

Whether he’s releasing machete-edged electronica or soulful punk-funk, Phil Kieran has built a reputation for quality output over the years.

Across more than two decades, he’s put out five studio albums and around 80 EPs, and undertaken remixes for the likes of Nitzer Ebb, Depeche Mode, Green Velvet, David Holmes and Andrew Weatherall. And that’s to say nothing of his Alloy Mental and Le Carousel projects, or the recent Nightdrive soundtrack.

To mark this week’s Bandcamp Friday, the Belfast native has a treat in store – he’s just dropped his entire back catalogue onto the platform, after spending over 18 months retrieving the rights to his music from various labels and publishing deals. He has also digitised some tracks that were previously only available on vinyl or CD, including some rare cuts from the Flying Cabbage label.

“Over the past 18 months I’ve been cloying back the rights to my own music so I can self-publish and release it via PKR,” he explains.

“I’ve released under so many labels and deals; and pseudonyms that it’s been hard to keep track. On occasion I’ve even come across music I forgot I’d made.”

He’s also marking the occasion with the release of new track Enjoy the Day, a collaboration with Green Velvet, on Phil Kieran Recordings.

The pair last worked together back in the 2010s, when they regularly wrote together and remixed each others music – including the collaborative effort Michael Jackson.

Log on to his Bandcamp page to find out more. And happy Bandcamp Friday!
