Foxbam Inc, headed up by Foxtrot and Egebamyasi, have announce details of their fifth EP, which is set to land on 25 April.
As well as Foxtrot’s Tartan Tripper and Egebamyasi’s ‘wobbelstep’ take on New Order‘s Blue Monday, Foxbam Inc 005 features tracks by Dutch producer Collision (Plop Projekt) and Minimum Syndicat (Tunnel Chase) – with the French duo keen to bring back the “fierce euphoria/weird energy of no-nonsense rave music”.
Foxbam Inc has lined up artists such as LFO’s Gez Varley and Altern 8’s Mark Archer on its first slew of releases, and it’s keeping up the pace with its latest offering, an acid techno blast positioned at the harder edge of the dance music spectrum.
Label co-founder Egebamyasi, aka Mr Egg, is one of the earliest originators of UK acid house and techno – particularly in his native Scotland – and a long serving veteran of dance music, from Weatherall’s Sabresonic nights to Bangface and beyond.
Taking his name from Can’s third album, this year actually marks the 40th anniversary of Egebamyasi as a producer – his first single, the synth-pop-cum-industrial track Circumstances, was released in 1986.
