Swedish producer Jeremy Olander has unveiled his debut album, When The Rain Falls, released on 13 March on his label, Vivrant.
The album comes 15 years on from Olander’s debut release on Pryda Friends, the label founded by Eric Prydz, in 2011, and has his career has progressed, he has developed a melodic sound built around storytelling and emotional clarity.
“This album means a lot to me beyond the music itself,” Olander said of the album’s release. “It’s a closing and an opening. The end of the first chapter of my career and my life, and the beginning of the next.
“I started it at a time when I was stuck in a destructive headspace, and I finished it piece by piece as things improved and I made some necessary changes. It’s very personal, so putting it out there feels both scary and incredibly exciting.”
The lead single from the album, Apollo, a collaboration with Swedish duo Moontalk, was released in February.
To support the release of When The Rain Falls, Olander is embarking on a global album tour beginning on 13 March in Houston, Texas, and taking in venues in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia, with forthcoming dates including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Stockholm, Sydney, Seoul, London, Manchester, Chicago, New York and Miami.
Since launching Vivrant in 2014, Olander has developed the label into a highly-regarded platform for melodic beats, while he has also released on imprints such as Last Night On Earth, Diynamic, Drumcode, Watergate Records and Anjunadeep.
