Tinlicker look ahead to forthcoming album, ‘Dreams of the Machine’

Tinlicker have announced that their forthcoming fourth studio album, set for release at the end of February, will be called Dreams of the Machine.

The trio have just released a new single from the album, Release, which precedes their UK and European live tour, commencing in Berlin on 3 March. You can check it out here.

“At its heart, Release is about how easily we slip out of the moment without noticing,” Tinlicker said of the new single. “The habit of checking, fixing and responding instantly on our phones and how that slowly takes over our attention to each other.

“We’re not anti-technology, perhaps just quietly aware of what disappears when distraction becomes automatic. Release is about pausing and staying in the moment with the people around you.”

On the forthcoming 14-track album, meanwhile, Tinlicker said that the title was inspired by the current state of the world around us, as technology permeates our day-to-day lives.

“Where is the boundary between human and machine? Can we create a world in which both exist in harmony, organic and digital?’

Tinlicker’s tour will take in stops in Berlin, Warsaw, Paris, Cologne, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Dublin, London, and Manchester, as well as city debuts in Brussels, Oslo, and Stockholm, among others. The group has also hinted at a potential North American leg in the future.

Tinlicker – Dreams of the Machine will drop on 27 February on Remember The Future/[PIAS]. You can pre-order it here.
