Alan Braxe and Fred Falke to mark 25 years of ‘Intro’ with new remix EP

Alan Braxe and Fred Falls are marking 25 years since the release of their collaborative track 'Intro' with a new remix pack set to be released in March.

Alan Braxe and Fred Falke are marking 25 years since the release of their collaborative track Intro with a new remix EP, set to be released in March.

Available digitally and on limited-edition vinyl, and set to land on 20 March on Smugglers Way, the new EP will feature remixes by both Braxe and Falke, as well as the original.

The Fred Falke remix is available now for streaming and download, with an accompanying visualiser by Sophie Koko.

Intro, the iconic vocal sample of which was taken from The Jets’ Crush On You, was originally released on Braxe’s Vulture Music label before appearing on the compilation The Upper Cuts.

Braxe and Falke (pictured above in 2002, photo by Philippe Levy) first met in 1996 during military service in France, before reconnecting in 1999 after meeting again in a second-hand record shop in Toulouse. At the time, Braxe had already released music on Thomas Bangalter’s Roulé label, and had achieved chart success through his involvement with Stardust, of Music Sounds Better With You fame.

“I had decided to set up a label, Vulture, and I was looking for someone to work with,” Braxe says of the period. “I was more into sampling and machines and I had the idea that it would be interesting to work with someone like Fred who had a very musical background, with the keyboards and the bass.”

The 25th anniversary release of Intro by Alan Braxe and Fred Falke will be released on 20 March via Smugglers Way – you can pre-order it here.
