Loco Dice has unveiled his fourth studio album, Purple Jam, which is out now on Virgin Records and features collaborations with Carl Cox, Skrillex, Guè, The Martinez Brothers and more.
Following on from Loco Dice’s recent appearances at Coachella and EDC Las Vegas, the album combines elements of house, techno and hip hop – genres that have had an influencing factor on the German DJ and producer’s sound.
The 12-track album also features collaborations with Fireboy DML, Marco Carola, Moxie Knox, Trinidad James, Haftbefehl, and 1 Up Crew.
The stand-out track for 909originals is the bass-heavy Road Runner, which sees the producer team up with Carl Cox, whose support for Loco Dice in the early 2000s played a role in the latter’s career trajectory.
As a press release for the album puts it, ‘As his fourth full-length offering, Purple Jam is more than a studio album – it’s a map of Loco Dice’s musical DNA: cross-genre, cross-generational, and cross-cultural. Shaped by decades behind the decks and deep connections to the scenes he’s lived through, it’s a collection that feels rooted in history while wired for tomorrow.’
The album coincides with a series of shows that Loco Dice is undertaking in the US at present, taking in dates in Los Angeles (Grand Park), New York (Sunset Park), Detroit (Movement), Chicago (Castaways) and Toronto (Coda).
