Spanish DJ and producer Dennis Cruz has announced the launch of a new label and event series, BotaniQ, with the first EP on the label, Way Back, now available.

The two-track EP, which features the tracks Way Back and Fabulous, landed on BotaniQ on 9 May, with a launch party set for Lofi, Amsterdam on 29 May.

“I’m excited to share this brand new concept to the world,” Cruz said of the launch. “BotaniQ is an idea that has no boundaries, meaning that I can showcase all the styles of music that I make, enjoy and play without being restricted to genres.

“We’ll also bring this idea to the dancefloor, with events designed to focus on the music and people and avoiding unnecessary distractions.”

Cruz has been a longstanding member of the Solid Grooves family, as well as being a regular on labels such as Crosstown Rebels, with this latest venture marking the start of a new creative era.

The year has gotten off to a busy start for the Madrid-born artist, who recently returned to play Coachella festival, featured in several showcases during Miami Music Week, undertook a tour of South America, and played anumber of sold-out GOLFOS appearances alongside partner-in-crime PAWSA.

As a press release for BotaniQ put it, ‘More than just a record label, BotaniQ is a creative outlet designed to blur the lines between music and nature into one cohesive vision, bringing immersive sounds into unique, carefully chosen spaces. From open-air venues to unexpected settings, the project aims to heighten the connection between artist, audience, and environment, offering unique experiences that go beyond the dancefloor.’
