Swedish techno legend Cari Lekebusch is set to release his first EP on Lady Tazz‘s Mind Medizin imprint, with the XYZ (Part One) EP set to land on 31 January.
Featuring four tracks, Mind and Matter, Freakout, Ninguno es Uno and Heritage, the release is the first of a two-part release, with XYZ (Part Two) set to land in February.
The standout track for us is Freakout, a hypnotic techno stomper which offers little room for respite over five and a half minutes.
Based in Stockholm, Lekebusch has been a pivotal figure in the techno underground for more than two decades, and is part of a generation of Swedish techno pioneers, along with the likes of Adam Beyer and Joel Mull.
He has released on labels such as Drumcode and Planet Rhythm, as well as his own H Productions imprint, and this first release for Mind Medizin ‘finds him in typically excellent form across four potent cuts’, according to a press release.
