Cevin Fisher‘s house classic The Freaks Come Out has received the remix treatment from Nicole Moudaber for a new release on Faith.
Commenting on the release, Moudaber said that the track holds a special place in her heart, “I fell in love with house music listening to Danny Tenaglia and Cevin’s The Freaks Come Out was such a mega tune around that time. When I hear it, it takes me right back to the golden ‘nights’ in NYC so when they asked me to remix it, it was a no brainer for me.
“It’s given me the opportunity to explore its darker edges while keeping its infectious spirit alive. This track is a celebration of late-night euphoria and the unifying power of music on the dancefloor.”
The remix is describes as a ‘hypnotic blend of deep grooves, pulsating basslines, and sensual, dark energy. Infused with erotic tension and club-ready aesthetics, the track retains the essence of Fisher’s original while amplifying its haunting allure with Moudaber’s inimitable production style’, and can be downloaded/streamed here.
DJ, producer and label boss Moudaber has collaborated with the likes of Carl Cox, Chris Liebing, Jamie Jones, Ida Engberg, Skin, Moby, and the London Community Gospel Choir over the years, and this year marks the tenth anniversary of her InTheMood brand.
On the back of a busy year, she’s getting ready for two big InTheMood shows to close out the year, including a 4-hour B2B set with Chris Liebing on 6 December at Electric Brixton in London, followed by an ‘all night long’ show at Avalon Hollywood on 21 December. Find out more here.
