fabric teams up with artist Mark Vessey to celebrate legendary mix collection

London nightclub fabric has teamed up with artist Mark Vessey on a commemorative piece of artwork to celebrate the club’s legendary mix series.

As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, fabric is collaborating with Vessey on a large-format photography series showcasing the mix compilations, which ran from 2001 to 2018.

“fabric has always been about culture, music culture, club culture, youth culture and art,” commented fabric co-founder Cameron Leslie. “The venue has always strived to be as forward thinking and innovative on all levels not just its music offering.

“The artwork for our flyers across 25 years has always been progressive as too the artwork for our mix series. It makes sense that the physical CD compilations of fabric are documented and celebrated. We are thrilled to work with UK artist Mark Vessey, who will immortalise the collection for all to see.”

Both the fabric and fabric Live mix series concluded in 2018 as they reached their 100th edition, with the series over the years featuring artists such as Ricardo Villalobos (2007), DVS1 (2017), LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and Pat Mahoney (2017), LTJ Bukem (2009), Four Tet (2011), Daniel Avery (2012) and many others.

“Being able to document the physical mix series for such a world renowned club and label is an honour,” Vessey commented. “I hope to immortalise and distil the impact of their physical release series within my art, so much that it will be there to view on display in the club for future generations of clubbers to see.”

The art, which is available at a reduced rate for a limited time to coincide with Black Friday, can be viewed/purchased here.
