Vince Watson to explore ‘darker side of techno’ with new Amorphic project

Vince Watson has unveiled the first release under his new ‘Amorphic’ guise, with the project seeing the Scottish producer dive deeper into ‘the darker side of techno’.

The first release by Amorphic, which is released on the self-titled label, features two heavyweight techno workouts, ‘A1’ and ‘A41’, with a total of four EPs scheduled for release on the label over the course of the year. It can be purchased here: amorphic101.bandcamp.com

Watson is also planning to support the project with a hardware-only live performance that debuted in Colombia in January, as well as a number of DJ sets.

According to a press release, Amorphic brings ‘dark energy, hypnotic polyrhythms and a powerful low end together to create an addictive cerebral experience, backed with a full-length visual live show’ – in order words, a new direction for the long-established producer. It follows on from the recently-released remix album, ‘DnA [re]Sequenced’.

Early support for Amorphic has come from Ben Sims, Jeff Mills, Pfirter, Kr!s Token, [ø]Phase, Dave Clarke.

Watson also has EPs forthcoming on Ben Sims’ Symbolism, Token, as well as Jeff Mills’ The Escape Velocity concept on Axis Records.
