Rebūke revisits 90s dance classic ‘Storm’ by Storm
Irish producer Rebūke has just released a new take on 90s’ anthem Storm by Storm, aka Jam & Spoon’s Jam El Mar.
The late 90s classic, which has just been released on Ministry of Sound, follows on from an edit Rebūke recently put together for some of his live sets, which Storm became aware of.
“I loved the original as a kid, the energy and simplicity of it really appealed to me,” he said. “We connected and decided to do something more with it using the original parts.
“When it was done, we sent it to Fisher and Carl Cox, who both played it to amazing reactions, and that’s when we realised we had a great track on our hands.”
Rebūke is on something of a roll at present, collaborating with the likes of CamelPhat and Alan Fitzpatrick, earning support from BBC Radio 1, as well as consistently landing releases in the Beatport Top 10 Chart.
Most recently, his Wasp EP on Drumcode led to support from the likes of Pete Tong, Carl Cox and Adam Beyer, and followed on from his successful Obscurity and Rattle EPs.
Commenting on the new release, Storm, who has been at the forefront of the scene since the early 90s, said, “Rebūke‘s rework on ‘Storm’ represents the perfect melange of the presence and the roots of Techno! If you want to set a floor on fire, this one’s for you!”
