With previous releases on labels such as Aus Music, Hypercolour, Shall Not Fade, and Rekids, a residency on Rinse FM, and his own Dumb Safari imprint, Huxley has been a powerhouse of the house music scene for well over a decade.
His most recent release is the single Head On, in collaboration with AndThen, which landed on Junior Jack’s label Adesso Music in February – check it out here.
For this week’s #MyRecordBag, Huxley presents his top ten big room bangers – tracks ‘built for packed rooms and terraces alike’, as a press release for Head On put it. Over to you, Huxley.
Makam – La Tuna [Dekmantel]
“I love this whole album, but I could only choose one, so I went for this groovy little number. This sets the night off right. A deep banger!”
Huxley – You’d Think [Moxy Muzik]
“A new one from me, but I’ve been playing this in every set for about six to eight months. A little bit of old skool deep house vibes on this.”
Rino Cerrone – RILIS 10 C1
“Anything from Rino could be on this list. I keep a few of his records handy at all times, this is proper groovey house/techno. What an absolute beast!”
Trentmoller – Physical Fraction [Audiomatique Recordings]
“An oldie, but what a techy beast. I love this tune. I found my vinyl of it just before I played in Berlin recently.”
Fioretti – L’ete [8Bit]
“A friend of mine showed me this the other day and ‘wow’! What a killer track.”
Huxley x AndThen – Head On [Adesso]
“A vocal banger! New one from me and the boy AndThen. A slick vocal line and chunky beats always work together, in my opinion.”
D’Julz – Orderly Open [Bass Culture]
“Again, another killer album, but this is my favourite. Amazing house music here. D’Julz is the master of groove for me.”
Jerome Sydenham – Track Model 17 [BBE]
“Another master of the groove here. I love Jerome’s housier side. Love how chunky this sounds on any system!”
Fabio Santos – Inside (Dennis Quinn remix) [Eardrums]
“Dennis nails everything he touches, classic UKG vibes with a modern twist. This is fire.”
Mark Ambrose – On the Road [Crayon]
“Another chunky house track, there’s a theme going on here! I love this! A roller, that works well in any set.”
Thanks to Huxley for his selections. Check out Huxley x AndThen – Head On here.
