Irish production duo Opus Klien, aka Psycatron’s Dave Lievense and Stephen Porter of Jika Jika!, have released the first of two EPs scheduled for this year on the Sprechen label.
The Inhale EP, which includes three tracks, emerged from a larger selection of 12 productions by the duo, which was fine tuned down to two releases.
The title track of the new EP has already received support from Paul Woolford, who featured it during his Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1, and is described as a ‘peak time, endorphin-shattering slab of solid house music with a harder edge that’s softened out by a real laser-reaching vocal and pads’.
The EP also features the Italo-influenced Transition, and Berta, which gradually adds percussive textures before descending into layered vocal sampling and metallic rhythmic elements.
Opus Klien have performed at iconic venues including Berghain, Tresor, Fabric, The Warehouse Project and Shine, as well as festivals such as I Love Techno, Movement Detroit, Parklife and AVA. They’ve also shared stages with artists such as Daniel Avery, Sam Paganini and Dense & Pika.
