Charlie Le Mindu announces launch of ‘Muchas Problemas’ project with new EP

Multidisciplinary artist Charlie Le Mindu has announced the launch of a new music project, Muchas Problemas, with the release of a self-titled EP.

Released on 29 January, the Muchas Problemas EP features five tracks, Inhale, Take Me In, Muchas Problemas, Loco and Tina, showcasing the range of musical styles the provocative artist has embraced during his career to date.

Blurring the lines between music and performance art, Le Mindu describes Muchas Problemas as being about “giving value to experiences that are usually reduced to taboo. About desire without explanation. Without apology.” The project sees Le Mindu team up with Raphaël, Romain, and Simon – three established figures from the French rock scene.

A former member of French electro-punk band Kap Bambino, Le Mindu has collaborated with artists such as Peaches, Lady Gaga, Doja Cat, Troye Sivan, Angèle, Cobrah, Yseult, TR/ST, and La Femme over the years, embracing radical pop and club aesthetics to define am experimental, underground sound.

Arguably the stand-out track is Take Me In, a pulsing electro/EBM monster. Commenting on the single, Le Mindu said, “The song comes from something real in my life. Fisting, for me, is a practice. It requires trust, attention, preparation. It’s about listening to bodies, not performing for anyone. I’m interested in depth. The point where the body stops being decorative and starts being intentional. Where pleasure becomes focused, repetitive, precise.

“At that depth, control disappears. No one is leading anymore. Everyone responds to the same rhythm. We become puppets in the same system, moved by sensation, not ego. The repetition in the lyrics comes from that place. Language breaks down. What’s left is command, presence, connection.”

The new project draws on Le Mindu’s love of post-punk, industrial and darkwave – ‘a visceral, multisensory collision: disruptive, expressionist and impossible to ignore’, as a recent release put it.
