Simina Grigoriu has unveiled a new four-track EP, Divine Assignment, on Drumcode, following on from her successful Declare Me EP on the same label last year.
The Berlin-based techno artist’s latest release has been described as channelling ‘raw rhythmic energy through a framework of clarity, tension and spatial awareness – the sound of an artist refining her identity while keeping the intensity that has always defined her sets and productions’.
The EP features four tracks, Divine Assignment, Layers of Reality, Love Honey and the stand-out track for us, Shatter Pattern, which features a series of shifting percussive segments.
Grigoriu has been active as both a DJ and producer for more than ten years, as well as heading up Kuukou Records, which serves as a platform for both her own work and that of other artists.
Divine Assignment ‘stands as another marker in her ongoing trajectory – a release that reaffirms her technical finesse, artistic discipline and commitment to a sound that’s as driven as it is deeply human,’ as a press release put it. Check out the EP here.
