Detroit techno artist Stacey Pullen’s label, Blackflag Recordings, has released its first compilation, Blackbox Vol.1.
Released at the end of October, the 10-track collection follows on from a slew of releases on the label over the past year, including cuts from the likes of R0XY, AMCU, G-Lover, and Reelow.
Blackbox Vol.1 brings together a ‘mix of artists from around the world, blending new names with ascending producers who are already making waves’, as a press release put it.
Featuring hypnotic grooves, rolling tech house, and minimalistic sounds, the compilation features tracks from Dalva, Drewski, Marchisio, Mumf, Francisco Samuel, Enrico Chirchiello, RemoveBeforeFlight, Alessandro Stoppa, Deleit (with Jordan Allinor and Le Disque), and Sergio Borja.
Blackflag Recordings describes Blackbox Vol.1 as a ‘statement of intent’, on a label that ‘balances fresh personality and dancefloor performance’.
