Jody Wisternoff unveils downtempo version of ‘Welcome To My World’

Jody Wisternoff is set to release a downtempo, ambient reworking of his recent album, Welcome To My World, on Anjunachill.

Due out on 28 August, the reworking of the album, originally released in December of last year, sees Wisternoff reshape eight of the original tracks into textured, atmospheric pieces.

Welcome to My World is an open invitation to step into my musical universe, gradually shaped over the 35 years I’ve spent in the game,” Wisternoff said of the new album. “For personal reasons, it also serves as a sonic timestamp – something I can look back on when I reach my twilight years.

“While I was writing it, I felt the melodic elements in the tracks really stood out on their own. When Anjuna announced the chill label subsidiary, the idea for this companion release was cemented in my mind. I selected eight tracks that I felt best lent themselves to this format and got to work.”

Welcome To My World has garnered over five million streams since its release, receiving support from artists including Gorgon City, Eelke Kleijn, Nick Warren, and Tim Green. Wisternoff, a member of Way Out West, has a long association with the Anjuna label family.
