A new global livestreaming platform, LFG.TV, is set to go live on 30 August, kicking off with a 13-hour DJ marathon featuring Todd Terry, David Morales, Michael Gray, Cristian Varela, and others.
The platform, which offers an array of live channels organised by genre, seeks to distinguish itself from other streaming services by eliminating DMCA takedowns and paywalls.
According to a statement, LFG.TV ‘levels the playing field for all DJs, from bedroom selectors to global headliners.’
Interactive tools will include ‘LFG Coins’, access passes, real-time tipping and direct artist support, as well as a built-in content ID function that lets fans seamlessly add tracks to Spotify, Apple Music, or Deezer, or purchase downloads directly from Beatport.
‘Revenue is shared fairly from day one, with no creator tiers or visibility paywalls,’ the statement read.
The new platform boasts strategic support from industry partners such as Technics, Beatport, Toolroom Records, Algoriddim, Freeze/InHouse, Sultra Records and more.
“LFG.TV perfectly reflects the spirit of DJ culture: community-powered, innovation-driven, and musically fearless,” commented Stefanie Baron, key account manager, Technics DJ Channel Europe. “We’re proud to support a platform that empowers artists and redefines what streaming can be for dance music.”
Elsewhere, house legend Todd Terry described the platform as “he real deal, LFG.TV gives DJs and the culture a proper home. It’s not just another platform, it’s a movement.”
Pre-registration for LFG.TV is currently open, allowing fans and DJs to reserve usernames and enter into launch giveaways totalling $5,000. The platform will become fully available worldwide following the conclusion of the pre-launch event. More information is available here.
