DJ Awards announces nominees and new categories for 2025 edition

The DJ Awards, which returned to Ibiza last year after a four-year hiatus, has revealed the nominees for its 2025 edition, alongside the introduction of new categories.

The DJ Awards, which returned to Ibiza last year after a four-year hiatus, has revealed the nominees for its 2025 edition, alongside the introduction of new categories.

Public voting for the awards is now open, and can be found here.

Last year’s winners included (categories in brackets): Black Coffee (Afro), Sam Divine (House), Armin van Buuren (Trance), CamelPhat (Progressive House), Chase & Status (D&B), Fisher (International DJ), WhoMadeWho (Organic House), as well as Luciano, who received the ‘Ibiza Icon’ Award.

This year’s Awards feature a new ‘Balearic‘ category – a sound intrinsic to Ibiza’s dance legacy – as well as Hard Dance/Bounce, which has had a huge revival in the last 12 months.

The full list of genre-specific categories includes Afro, Breakthrough, Drum & Bass, Garage/Bassline, Hard Dance/Bounce, Hard Techno, House, International DJ, Latin/Reggaeton, Live Act, Newcomer, Prog/Melodic, Tech House, Techno and Trance.

Among the high-profile nominees are Calvin Harris, Peggy Gou, Solomun, and Honey Dijon for International DJ, while Afro sees names such as Black Coffee, Shimza, and Major League DJz nominated. The Balearic shortlist features Ibiza favourites including Jon Sa Trinxa and Clara Da Costa, and Drum & Bass includes Chase & Status, Andy C, and Nia Archives. Along with the 16 genre-specific categories, the DJ Awards also feature a number of industry and special recognition awards, including ‘Track of the Summer’, ‘Party of the Summer’, ‘Icon Award’, ‘Lifetime Achievement’, ‘Eye On: MENA’, ‘DJ Livestream of the Year’, and ‘Play It Back – Social Impact Award’, which are proposed by a jury of music professionals, with winners announced ahead of the awards show.
