Saudi Arabian-Singaporean producer JEEM has unveiled his debut single, Ta’amulat, which blends minimal, yet driving rhythms with melodic synths.

The London-based artist, also known as Jabriel AlSuhaimi, says that the track began life during a 14-hour flight to Singapore in December 2024, a trip that sparked reflection and creativity.

“There’s something about long-haul flights that puts me into a meditative state, with thoughts bouncing around, flowing from one topic to the next,” he explains. “I think that’s why I decided to call this track Ta’amulat, which means meditations or reflections in Arabic.”

The track is inspired by artists such as Or:la, Four Tet, Plus One and Joy Orbison, and started off as an ambient composition, before drums, percussion and JEEM’s own chopped vocals were added.

The writing and production of Ta’amulat spanned a number of locations, including Singapore, Bali, London, Edinburgh, and New York, with the vibes of each location woven into the fabric of the track.

“This track is huge for me because it’s the first time I’ve taken my production into a mature direction,” JEEM added. “I’ve planned out everything from start to finish and tried out different ideas with multiple versions of the track. I’m so proud of how this came together and I’m excited for it to be out in the world.”

JEEM – Ta’amulat is out now on major streaming platforms.
