Lawrence Hart has been immersed in music since he was a child – he trained as a classical musician before going on to study jazz trumpet at SUNY Purchase – and his electronic output to date indicates his adeptness at crafting uplifting, melodic beats.
Hart recently released his debut album, Come In Out Of The Rain, on Domino’s Double Six imprint, which the producer has described as an “emotional garage record, euphoric and therapeutic”. You can check it out here.
For this week’s #MyRecordBag feature, Lawrence Hart serves up his top UK electronic tracks of 2025… so far anyway. Over to you, Lawrence!
Wayward – Do We Die?
“Wayward’s first track in a while does not disappoint – a beautiful contemplative reflection on what happens to you when you die.”
1-800 GIRLS – there 4 u
“A beautifully simple anthem from the always-great, always-consistent 1-800 GIRLS. This track walks that line of emotional sincerity and forward-thinking production perfectly.”
Leon Vynehall – TEARS4ALOVER
“Incredible sonics as always from Leon Vynehall with TEARS4ALOVER. It’s the first subdued offering from Vynehall in a while – the track does a brilliant job holding the drama and intensity without needing drums.”
Rosie Lowe – Something (Pearson Sound Remix)
“Pearson Sound’s latest remix is equal parts familiar and something you’ve never heard before. It brilliantly weaves and meanders through this creeping banger that grows on you with every listen.”
Oscar Farrell – I’ve Already Called
“Such interesting and forward-thinking vocals from Oscar Farrell’s I’ve Already Called. The whole EP is incredible, but the title track is my favourite.”
Villager – SPINNING (I FEEL IT TOO)
“I love the filtered live-sounding drums juxtaposed with the high energy pitched R&B vocals on SPINNING (I FEEL IT TOO). Villager has delivered something pretty special with his latest album NOWHERE FM: STRAIGHT TO THE HEART.”
Dense & Pika – Navy
“Dense & Pika’s first release on Hotflush in a very long time and it’s a pretty heavy one. There’s a cheekiness to Navy that works well with the dusty sounding drums.”
O’Flynn – Banggg
“Banggg hits so hard. There’s always a lot of care and detail in O’Flynn’s productions, which for this track adds so much energy.”
Otus – Mata
“Mata is a really forward thinking one from Otus. This track patiently moves from a heavy groove into sophisticated euphoria and seamlessly back again.”
Dusky – Keep On (Club Dub)
“I love this new dub from Dusky. It’s such an earworm and instantly puts me in a good mood. There’s a beautiful innocence and naivety that shines through in this track.”
Lawrence Hart – Come In Out Of The Rain is available now, get it here. Available on exclusive Domino Mart LP with a limited signed and hand numbered artwork poster, standard black LP, CD, and download.
