FABRICLIVE unveils first original artist release

Since its inception in 1999, FABRICLIVE has been at the forefront of championing genres such as jungle, drum & bass, grime, garage, footwork, amapiano and dubstep

Since its inception in 1999, FABRICLIVE has been at the forefront of championing genres such as jungle, drum & bass, grime, garage, footwork, amapiano and dubstep, while its seminal mix series, which ran until 2018, featured artists as diverse as Marcus Intalex, David Rodigan, DJ Marky, Pearson Sound, Ben UFO and Special Request.

Now, FABRICLIVE is entering a new chapter, with the launch of its first artist release, by Norwich jungle/d&b artist Sully – the Model Collapse EP.

Set for release on 14 March, the title track of the two-track EP is described as merging ‘caustic acid tekno with techstep depth, sharp gritty beats and classic low-end wobble’, while The Wash, on the flip, blends ‘warped synths, processed voices and masterful drumwork’.

A bespoke vinyl edition features a picture disc and hand-etched design, mastered by Matt Colton at Metropolis and manufactured by The Vinyl Factory.

Artwork is by John Karborn, of whom Sully comments, “We have a few projects under our belt now and I’ve always enjoyed the process. He’s a dynamo of ideas and I’m never quite sure where they’ll lead, which is 99% of the fun with this stuff. Conversely, FABRICLIVE is a new partnership for me but it’s clear we are on the same page in terms of trying something a bit different and being a bit ambitious with the presentation.”

Sully – Model Collapse is released on FABRICLIVE on 14 March and can be downloaded/streamed here.
