Brazilian artists ANNA and Antdot‘s debut collaboration Astralis is a spiritual sermon in subtle electronic sub-genre heaven. Rosie Riot finds out more about the release, and what happens when two electronic skyscapes collide on the other side of the world.
KOKO, the grade II listed Victorian theatre-cum-music venue in London’s Camden, has been namechecked as a bucket list venue for many artists. Despite its traditional oxblood and gold gilded opulence, electronic music stars from across the globe are choosing the venue to unveil some of their most innovative work, often resulting in some of the most current, authentic, and atmospheric club performances in the industry.
KOKO Electronic, the venue’s premier club night series, showcased this on 6 March, when global techno ‘tour de force’ ANNA, and her fellow Brazilian electronic comrade and collaborator Bruno ‘Antdot’, performed a special B2B set to celebrate Astralis, their new single – check it out here.
Astralis (Latin for ‘of the stars’) manages to balance gathering force with restraint. It layers hypnotic plucks, shimmering shakes, and perhaps most notably the use of the handpan, an instrument featured on the track by percussionist Ravid, as well as by ANNA herself.
The steel percussion gives the track an undeniable sun-soaked signature. The result is a weightless, otherworldly trip into the cosmos, where two sonic worlds combine. A spiritual, soul cleansing ascension into golden bliss.
ANNA has proved herself to be a notably dynamic artist, effortlessly swinging from her tougher brand of techno, to mellowed melodic. And this is no-more so than in the case of Astralis, which blends beautifully with Antdot’s afro-organic percussion. ANNA’s floating atmospheres glide across Antdot’s percussive groove, resulting in a melodic house and techno production that feels natural yet explorative. Transcendent; yet textural.
The story behind the collaboration was born from a behind-the-scenes synergy that later matured onstage. The first invitation to play together came at Tomorrowland 2025, when Antdot and ANNA were booked for a B2B set at the Crystal Garden stage.
“When we were invited to play a B2B at Tomorrowland, we wanted to create a track together to make it even more special, to play something in the B2B that we had created ourselves,” ANNA explains.
From that shared intention, the collaboration took shape organically. “As we got to know each other better, it felt natural to work on a track together, and Astralis is about that. It’s about this connection,” Antdot adds.
For ANNA, the collaboration was also personal.
“We met backstage and had a really strong connection. I felt he was like a brother, and we even took photos. I said, ‘let’s collaborate one day, and let’s take pictures now, that way, when it happens, we’ll already have them,’” she says.
“I love when a collaboration comes from pure connection, and that’s exactly the energy behind Astralis. Bruno and I became instant friends, and creating the track felt completely natural.”
“Playing at KOKO has been on my bucket list for a long time, so it was a special night. Sharing that moment with Bruno and playing Astralis the day it was released into the world made it even more meaningful.”
Astralis is out now on Dawn Patrol Records. Words by Rosie Riot.
