Hong Kong-born, Netherlands-based artist gyrofield has announced details of a forthcoming two-track EP on FABRICLIVE, which is set to land on 2 May.
The EP, which features the tracks Akin and Mother, showcases gyrofield’s atmospheric and melodic drum ‘n’ bass sound, and follows on from the release of her album A Faint Glow of Bravery on Metalheadz in 2024.
gyrofield, aka Kiana Li, said of the new release, “’Akin and Mother remind me of my earliest days writing dance music. These are two free-spirited, transportive pieces that feel like spreading my wings and letting the air take me. Brought skyward in the hand of fate, nurturing yet weathered by my very own ideals. We all wish for better days. And toil to heal.”
gyrofield has previously released on labels such as Critical, Overview, and Noisia’s Vision, and is a regular on NTS radio. She has received support in the past from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs, Objekt, and DJ Flight.
She will be performing at several major upcoming events, including the Unexpected Music Festival in Munich on May 1, Psychotherapy Sessions in Bristol on May 2, and HORST Festival in Brussels on May 3. Other upcoming shows include Ramroot Festival in Grantham on July 5, Outlook Origins in Tisno from July 24 to 28, Draaimolen Festival in Tilburg on September 5, and by:Larm Festival in Oslo and Waterworks Festival in London on September 12–13.
