Being Sarah, a collaboration between producer Luke Barnett and rapper/producer Citizen Black, have announced details of a forthcoming single, Oceanic Dream, which is set to land on thatboytim‘s Takeover Recordings on 17 May.
Oceanic Dream, which is also set to be remixed by Americhord, Jay Riordan, Vanishing Arcs, and therarelowry on a forthcoming remixes EP, is described as pairing ‘yearning vocals with expansive and reflective house’, and marks a new direction for Barnett, who also records under the name Warehouse.
He has a longstanding working relationship with Citizen Black, having booked him for his first weekly club, Weird Scientist, in the now legendary McGruders of Thomas Street, Dublin. As well as working together on a number of events and productions, the pair also became promoting partners in 2012, running a party, Rollover, which caterered for daytime weekend clubbing.
The name Being Sarah was coined by Barnett after he heard the first version of Oceanic Dream – and was named after a sister he never had.
Following on from Oceanic Dream, the pair plan to release a follow up single, No Trick Pony, in August 2024, and have a number of live performances lined up for during the summer.
