Primavera Sound announces its largest lineup to date for 2022 edition

Primavera Sound has unveiled the largest (and arguably the most diverse) lineup in its history, with the festival’s 2022 edition set to take place across 11 days – encompassing two weekends as well as six days of additional events.

A total of 415 artists will perform during the festival – with several appearing over both weekends – as Primavera Sound marks its 20th anniversary.

It is, as the organisers state, a festival that is, in fact, ‘several festivals in one… or infinite, thanks to all the existing variables that the attendees can choose to suit them’.

Highlights include:

Weekend 1 (2-4 June). The first weekend will feature a variety of artists that had been scheduled for the aborted 2020 and 2021 editions of the festival, with The Strokes, Tyler, The Creator, Pavement, Tame Impala, Massive Attack, Gorillaz, The National, Jorja Smith, Beck and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds among those performing. Other stages will feature Fontaines D.C., Dinosaur Jr. and Parquet Courts, as well as electronic pioneers Autechre, DJ Shadow and others.

Weekend 2 (9-11 June). The second weekend is set to be as action packed as the first, with Dua Lipa, Lorde, Megan Thee Stallion, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Interpol being joined by the pick of Weekend 1 – The Strokes, Tyler, The Creator, Tame Impala, Gorillaz, Massive Attack and Jorja Smith among others – so nobody will miss their performances. Run The Jewels, MIA, Slowdive and Mogwai are among the highlights on the other stages.

Primavera A La Ciutat (5-8 June). How about 150 more concerts, spread over more than 10 venues in Barcelona, spaced between the two Primavera Sound 2022 weekends? Primavera a la Ciutat will be a festival within a festival featuring weekday performances by Beck, Jamie xx, Disclosure dj set, Interpol, Jorja Smith, Megan Thee Stallion, Charli XCX, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Slowdive, Jawbox, Goldie and a myriad of musical talent.

Brunch On The Beach (12 June). Wrapping up the festival will be Brunch On The Beach, taking place on Sunday 12 June on the beach of Sant Adrià de Besòs, featuring Nina Kraviz, Amelie Lens, Peggy Gou, Nicola Cruz, Monolink, Anika Kunst, Chaos in the CBD, Héctor Oaks, Joyhauser and Malika.

All tickets already purchased for the 2020 and 2021 editions will allow you to attend one weekend of Primavera Sound 2022 Barcelona, while a range of new ticket options will go on sale on Tuesday 1 June. For more information, visit www.primaverasound.com.
