Djrum is following up last year’s critically-acclaimed album Under Tangled Silence with a forthcoming EP set to land on Houndstooth on 14 August, I Wander.
Intended as “a single work, spread across several tracks”, the EP sees a continuation of Djrum’s signature, free-flowing sound, exploring the space between experimental electronica and post-classical composition. You can pre-order it here.
“I Wander can be digested in bitesize chunks, or taken as a whole,” Djrum commented. “Each track tells a different story on their own, but taken as a whole, a different narrative is revealed.
“What’s the difference between a song, a track, a work, a piece? I am interested in playing with these distinctions.”
To support the release, Djrum, whose real name is Felix Manuel, will perform at a series of festivals and clubs across Europe this summer, including Roskilde Festival, Kappa FuturFestival, Houghton Festival, Lowlands Festival, Tresor Berlin, Waterworks Festival in London, and ADE in Amsterdam.
