Dublin is set to be the location for the next mix in the Global Underground city series, with Deep Dish taking the helm for Global Underground GU49: Dublin, set to be released in May 2026.
It’s the third Global Underground city mix for Deep Dish, following on from GU21: Moscow and GU25: Toronto, with Sharam and Dubfire bullish about their return to the series.
“Global Underground was foundational for us, not just as a platform but as a legacy – a series shaped by decades of iconic artists who helped define the culture of DJing and club music,” they commented.
“It was always about storytelling, and in many ways each compilation served as a musical time capsule. We always tried to include the most timeless songs possible and coming back to the series now feels like closing a circle while opening a new chapter.”
GU49 marks the first time that Global Underground has touched down in Ireland, and ahead of the mix’s release, a launch event is set to take place at Index Dublin on 30 January. Check out the teaser below, set in legendary Dublin pub Grogan’s.
The mix is set to be preceded by a single, a Deep Dish remix of Moderat’s Eating Hooks, which will land on 1 May.
Global Underground founder Andy Horsfield added, “It’s a honour to be able to team up with Ali and Sharam again to deliver yet another outstanding GU City series album, this time from the vibrant city of Dublin. Deep Dish have again excelled themselves just like they did with Moscow and Toronto in delivering a stunning album with #GU49 Dublin. I’m sure the GU and Deep Dish fans across the globe are going to love this album as much as we do.”
Pre-orders for GU49 Dublin are now available on the Global Underground website.
