Palms Trax is set to head up the next instalment in the fabric Presents series, with a 20-track mix set for release on 27 November.
fabric Presents: Palms Trax brings together new solo material, collaborations with Mathew Jonson and Ogazón, and rare selections, and will also be available as a double-vinyl sampler.
A single from the mix has already been released, Kalia’s Photos, which sees Palms Trax collaborate with Mathew Johnson.
Palms Trax is the alias of UK-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer Jay Donaldson, who has drawn from a myriad of genres over a decade-long career.
As a press release put it, ‘Drawing on deep-rooted influences from house and techno, alongside a lifelong appreciation for sentimental dance music, his sound balances emotive textures, timeless grooves and forward-thinking club energy. […] His contribution to fabric’s iconic mix series brings these sensibilities into focus, weaving original productions and collaborations together with personal selections and rediscovered gems.’
For Palms Trax, the project provides an opportunity to bring together different elements of his musical interests rather than focusing on a single style – ‘an insight into the sounds, influences and connections that have shaped his approach to music’.
