Open House Dublin and Give Us The Night have announced details of Lost and Found: Tracking Dublin’s Dancefloors – Past, Present and Future, a nocturnal tour exploring the places, people and possibilities that have shaped Dublin’s nightlife.
The event will take participants on a 1-hour 45-minute bus tour through the city, departing from Fidelity Bar & Studio on Queen Street in Smithfield at either 6.30pm or 9pm on Wednesday 14 October.
Along the route, DJs, promoters, historians and others connected to Dublin’s nightlife scene will share stories and memories of venues and dancefloors that have disappeared, as well as considering how the city’s nightlife could develop in the future.
‘From lost clubs and repurposed buildings to neighbourhoods undergoing rapid change, Lost and Found explores what happens when the spaces that support music, dancing and social life disappear,’ as the event website puts it. ‘What can the city learn from the dancefloors it has lost? Where could new spaces emerge? And how might buildings, streets and neighbourhoods be shaped to make room for nightlife, culture, community and the people who create them?’
Passengers will also be invited to contribute to the conversation, sharing their own experiences, favourite nights, memories and ideas about Dublin‘s nightlife sector.
