Electronic pioneer Dave Angel has announced details of a forthcoming new album, A Time And Place, which is set to be released on 18 September on R&S Records.
Described as his most ‘personal and accomplished album to date’, the album sees the UK producer explore the jazz, soul and improvisational influences that played an essential role in his musical upbringing.
The first single from the album, Réflexion, is out now, featuring Steve Waterman, whose playing first caught Angel’s attention after an appearance on Paul Hazel’s album Out Of This World on Bamboo Radical.
Other collaborators set to appear on the album include legendary vocalist Robert Owens, guitarist Merv Carswell and Aurii Sky.
As a press release put it, ‘A Time And Place reflects the cultural influences shaping Dave’s musical journey, blending personal reflections on rave culture and community with broader commentary on the world today. This combination of intimate storytelling and wider social themes gives the project both emotional depth and universal resonance.’
It also marks Angel’s return to the Belgian label R&S Records, which played a key role in establishing his musical career more than three decades ago.
