Hannah Wants gets personal on new single ‘Hold Me’

Hannah Wants has teamed up with vocalist and close friend ARA on a new single, Hold Me, which has just been released on Defected Records.

The single is particularly personal for the Birmingham native, as it was written in December 2023 when she was “unaware that this very song would become my own truth and a part of my own storyline”, as she explains.

It was written following a relationship breakup, which, combined with a cancer re-diagnosis, meant that the track held a deep significance for her, just as Cure My Desire featuring Clementine Douglas did a few years earlier.

Cure My Desire was born out of heartbreak in 2020 and played a huge part in my healing,” she commented. “I know releasing Hold Me is going to play a similar role.”

As a press release for the single puts it, Hold Me features ‘evocative themes of love, loss, and resilience
bolstered by ARA’s spellbinding vocal layers. This aptly timed release illustrates Hannah’s evolution as an
artist and songwriter.’

An acoustic version of Hold Me is set for release later this month.

Hannah Wants featuring ARA – Hold Me is out now via Defected Records, and can be downloaded/streamed here.
