Legendary DJ and producer Dave Angel needs little introduction – having risen to prominence on Brixton-based pirate radio station Phase One in the late ’80s, he has been an integral part of the UK techno scene ever since, establishing the Rotation Records imprint back in the 90s and remixing artists such as Underworld, Orbital, and Model 500.
Many classic cuts from the Rotation catalogue are now on Bandcamp, with more releases being added all the time.
His mix albums, meanwhile, such as 39 Flavours of Tech Funk and X-Mix-4 (Beyond The Heavens), still receive regular airplay at 909originals HQ, more than two decades on from their release.
In early 2023, Angel is set to release a new EP, Glide, on Radio Slave‘s Rekids imprint, which reflect his signature style.
The EP features two tracks, Glide and Peekaboo, and is set to be released on 27 January.
Commenting on the release, he said, “It’s just me, that’s my sound. As long as it’s groovy, and funky, and solid, that’s all I can say!”
Keep up to date with his past and future releases here.
