Kneecap, Mango X Mathman, Aby Coulibaly and Monjola set for Red Bull SoundClash in Dublin

Red Bull is bringing its Red Bull SoundClash concept to Dublin‘s RDS on 21 October, with artists including Kneecap, Mango X Mathman, Aby Coulibaly and Monjola set to appear on the night.

The event will see Mango X Mathman go head-to-head with rising stars Aby Coulibaly and Monjola in an on-stage battle, with the lineups of each crew set to be announced on the night.

Set over six rounds in the RDS Shelbourne Hall, both crews will be challenged to get creative, pitting their musical skills against each other as they plan and plot to outshine their opponent – with an audience decibel meter set to determine the winner on the night.

In addition, provocative rappers Kneecap have just been announced as a special guest on the night, and will take to the stage with their sonic fusion of rave and rudimentary hip-hop beats, backed by satirical, socially-conscious lyrics.

MC for the night is Gemma Bradley, host of BBC Music Introducing, and an established R&B artist in her own right.

The Red Bull SoundClash concept was inspired by the culture of competing sound systems originating in Kingston, Jamaica, during the 1950s, in which artists, MCs and DJs challenged each other to whip up the biggest crowd and walk away with the ultimate bragging rights. This October’s event marks the first time that the Red Bull SoundClash has come to Ireland.

Tickets to Red Bull SoundClash are €25 including booking fee, and are available via Ticketmaster. Doors open at 7pm, with the show commencing at 8pm. More information here.
