There are festival lineups, and then there’s the lineup for this year’s Awakenings, which has just been announced.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the legendary techno fest, with this year’s edition taking place at Spaarnwoude, near Amsterdam, on June 27 and 28, and it’s fair to say that the organisers have pulled out all the stops and delivered everything that is great and good about the scene.
It being the 20th anniversary, there’s a blend of the old and the new about the lineup, with pioneers such as Derrick May, Jeff Mills, Kevin Saunderson, Robert Hood, Richie Hawtin and Carl Cox sharing the stage with upcoming names such as VTSS, ONYVAA, Park Hye Jin, SAMA’, Chris Stussy and Kevin de Vries.
And that’s only scratching the surface. Ben Klock, Charlotte de Witte, Amelie Lens, Surgeon, Joris Voorn, Maceo Plex, Adam Beyer, Joseph, Len Faki, Sam Paganini, Reinier Zonneveld, Tale of Us… we don’t know where to start!
In addition, the festival will boast innovative and groundbreaking stage designs and next level production – not to mention some EPIC soundsystems.
Suffice to say, this is one event in the calendar that is NOT TO BE MISSED.
And if you’re not convinced, this clip of DJ Rush rocking the 2018 edition should be all you need to know… 🙂
