Just days after sharing a cryptic announcement that suggested it was calling a halt to its annual Barcelona festival, Sónar has announced the first acts for its ‘reborn’ 2027 edition, which is set to take place from 17 to 19 June.

On 27 October, Sónar shared an update to its website and social media channels, announcing ‘Sónar is dead’, along with the dates ‘1994 – 2026’. Fans suggested that the announcement may not signal the ‘death’ of the festival; rather a rebrand or change of management following criticism of the festival’s ties to investment firm KKR.

However, fears over Sónar’s future appear to have been short-lived, with Carl Cox, Peggy Gou, KI/KI, Romy, Oscar Mulero and Honey Dijon among the initial artists announced for Sónar 2027.

Other DJs confirmed to appear include Collabs3000 (Chris Liebing & Speedy J), Job Jobse, Aurora Halal live, Goldie live, Donato Dozzy & Batu, and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, while the first live announcements include Bonobo, Tokischa, Yung Lean, Frost Children, Jessie Ware and Cornelius.

The 2027 edition will see Sónar by Day return to central Barcelona, where the festival began in 1994. Its daytime programme will be held at a waterfront location from Thursday 17 to Saturday 19 June, bringing the music programme and Sónar+D – the festival’s cultural and creative hub – together at the same site.

Sónar by Night, meanwhile, returns to Fira Gran Via for two nights – Friday 18 and Saturday 19 June – across four stages, SonarClub, SonarPub, SonarLab and SonarCar.

The wider Sónar Week festival programme will also include Sónar District at Parc del Fòrum, and will include the return of Sónar Kids, which sold out in 2026. OFFSónar will take place at Poble Espanyol from Thursday to Sunday. The first tickets are now on sale from the Sónar website.

Elsewhere, Sónar’s international programme includes NU Festival in Tokyo from 12 to 14 March 2027 and Sónar Istanbul on 9 and 10 April.
