ESSIRAY set to drop dnb/garage-inspired single ‘Make It Happen’ later this month

Irish producer ESSIRAY has announced details of her forthcoming single, Make It Happen, which is set for release on 27 March.

The release of the single, which draws on influences from jungle, drum ‘n’ bass and UK garage, comes amid growing recognition for the Dublin-born, Paris-based artist, whose musical journey began at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, where she trained as an opera singer.

She completed a master’s degree in Popular Music Practice at BIMM, specialising in composition, while years of piano training and teaching further shaped her musicianship and technical grounding.

However, a vocal injury forced her to step away from opera, instead turning to production, songwriting, and electronic experimentation, drawing inspiration from artists such as FKA twigs, Confidence Man, Catching Cairo, PinkPantheress, and Paradis.

More recently, ESSIRAY has been named ‘The Future of Irish Music’ by District Magazine, also earning plaudits from RTÉ, Hot Press and others, performing at festivals such as Electric Picnic, Forbidden Fruit and Beyond the Pale.

‘With new single Make It Happen, ESSIRAY explores a moment of personal realisation, pairing jungle-tinged rhythms with acoustic bass and layered harmonies,’ as a press release put it. ‘Her emotionally driven lyrics centre on having the self-belief to make things happen for yourself.’
