Brazilian DJ and producer Vintage Culture has teamed up with rising New York talent Layla Benitez on a new single, Nirvana, released on Loco Dice‘s label Knee Deep In Sound.
Released on 23 May, the new single features ‘percolating synths and sweeping bass swells’, according to a press release, as well as a ‘dramatic build – culminating in a payoff that feels both elegant and mature’.
The track has already received support from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and Danny Howard, and comes during what has been a busy 2025 thus far for Vintage Culture.
Following recent single She The Last One with ARTBAT, and a remix of Empire of the Sun’s Cherry Blossom, he’s currently in the midst of a tour that takes in performances in Phoenix, Miami, Atlantic City, and Detroit, with upcoming global stops in Ibiza, Brazil, and Belgium.
Last year saw the release of his debut album, Promised Land, which featured The Temper Trap and Maverick Sabre, as well as a remix pack featuring Solomun, Camelphat, and others.
Commenting on their collaboration on Nirvana, Layla Benitez said, “I played an early version of the track at Pacha last summer while Lukas [Vintage Culture] was in the booth. He immediately connected with it and had ideas. From there, the creative process truly became an organic back-and-forth.”
