DJ Bone’s FURTHER Records is kicking off the summer with a bang, with no less than six new releases set for 1 June, including a new album, DJ Bone XXXV: The End of Never.
Also set for release on 1 June is Subject Detroit 30th Anniversary Remixes Vol. 1, a compilation to mark the 30th anniversary of the now-defunct Subject Detroit imprint. The compilation features remixed material from the Subject Detroit catalogue by artists such as Mark Broom, DJ Bone, Azucy, Jack Fresia, Tälor, Vinicius Honorio, and Marco Bailey.
Other 1 June releases include a single by Doc Ciroc, DJ Bone’s house and disco alias, entitled Living Life, as well as three EPs: Deep Like the Sea by Azucy, Wannabe Gangsters by Yeti Mind Tricks, and Trust Me by Serge Jansen.
As well as the 30th anniversary of Subject Detroit, June marks five years of DJ Bone’s Amsterdam-based FURTHER party series, 35 years of music production, and his own 55th birthday.
“Doing things differently has always been a badge of honour for me,” DJ Bone, aka Eric Dulan, commented. “Choosing your own path, surprising people… this is what techno used to be all about. We’re releasing all of these together in the hope of reigniting that sense of ‘what will he do next?’. Of course, each release is amazing on its own, but together, FURTHER is even stronger. Expect more unforeseen things.”
FURTHER Records was launched after the closure of Subject Detroit in 2023, and like its predecessor is a non-profit label, with all proceeds directed to Homeless Homies, a charitable initiative founded by DJ Bone and Ahnne Dulan. The label has hosted events in Amsterdam since 2020, featuring artists including Ben Sims, Moodymann, Ellen Allien, Luke Slater, and Octave One. Read more here.
