A remastered, ‘director’s cut’ of The Orb‘s classic 1992 album U.F.Orb has been released, with Kris Weston and Greg Hunter, operating under the pseudonym ‘The Rob’ (see what they did there?), giving it the once over.
The ‘only official remaster of U.F.Orb’ follows on from a series of unauthorised attempts that “couldn’t master their way out of a wet paper bag and were an embarrassment”, as The Rob put it on their Bandcamp page. “The album was so bad some of it had to be erased.”
Being well-versed in U.F.Orb over the years, 909originals can confirm that the pair have made a great album – The Orb’s finest work if you ask us – even better.
It’s now available on Bandcamp, and will reportedly be available for free from 9 March.
Elsewhere, The Rob have also remastered The Orb’s seminal single, Little Fluffy Clouds, which is also available on Bandcamp.
Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to get lost in the hour-long bliss that is the ‘U.F.Orb 2025 Gapless Mix’… 🙂
