Eddie Amador‘s House Music turns 25 years old this year, and to mark the occasion, Yoshitoshi Recordings has announced a new Riva Starr remix of the track, following on from the release of a Sharam remix earlier this year.
The seminal cut, which features the line, “not everyone understands house music, it’s a spiritual thing, a body thing, a soul thing”, helped establish Amador’s name as a producer and remixer – on the back of its release, he went on to remix the likes of Madonna, Seal, Donna Summer and others, as well as play some of the biggest clubs in the world, such as Ministry of Sound, Crobar, and Ibiza’s Pacha and Space venues.
Riva Starr’s remix, which is described as capturing the ‘spirit of classic, Daft Punk-esque, French house’, is released on Yoshitoshi on 5 July. You can pre-order it here.
In recent years, Riva Starr, aka Stefano Miele, has achieved significant recognition with Eat Sleep Rave Repeat with Fatboy Slim, as well as releasing tracks on labels like Dirtybird, Hot Creations, Truesoul, Crosstown Rebels, and Moon Harbour. His The Loft EP on Cajual remained on the Beatport charts for over three months and received support from BBC Radio 1 for nine weeks.
Elsewhere, his remix of Groove Armada’s Superstylin and collaborations with Gene Farris and Dennis Cruz have topped the Beatport charts for more than two months, while The Wickedest Sound remained on the charts for over eight months.
Eddie Amador – House Music (Riva Starr Remix) is released on Yoshitoshi on 5 July.
