Trontsephore releases ‘Elephant’ EP on SCART

Dublin-based producer Trontsephore has released a new EP, Elephant, on Fran Hartnett’s SCART label.

The release features three tracks, The Undersea, Elephant and an INVNTR remix of Elephant, and is available now on transparent pink vinyl.

Trontsephore, aka producer John Braine, cites influences such as Skee Mask, Om Unit, and Al Wooton in crafting his sound, and tells 909originals that the track The Undersea was inspired in part by Station Eleven, a “post-apocalyptic TV show where people survive through love, art, community and connection”.

As for the title track, the “big, stomping drums made me think of elephants stomping”, he adds.

The record has already gained support from the likes of Surgeon and Cian Ó Cíobháin (An Taobh Tuathail), and a launch party is set to be announced in the coming weeks.
