#MyRecordBag – M.R.E.U.X. reveals his favourite techno remixes

Italian techno artist M.R.E.U.X. has long blended upfront beats with old-school sounds, and the Blumoog Music head’s latest EP, Power Bank, underscores why he is a reliable producer when it comes to big-room techno.

Featuring three new tracks – Ardity and Shock Wave, along with an Alan Fitzpatrick remix of Shock Wave, the EP is already available on vinyl, with a digital release scheduled for 27 April. More information is available here.

For 909originals’ #MyRecordBag feature, we asked M.R.E.U.X. for a playlist of his favourite techno remixes – expect some absolute bangers. Over to you, M.R.E.U.X.!

M.R.E.U.X – Ardity (Alan Fitzpatrick Remix)

A professional and elegantly tailored work for Blumoog Music, intense and full of energetic vibes. One of my favourites by far.

Planetary Assault System – Rip The Cut (Dubfire Remix)

One of my favourite labels brings power and energetic music once again. Obsessive sounds that pick your at your head – this is always in my bag.

Grimes – Darkseid (Richie Hawtin Remix)

I’m a Richie fan since the 90s – Plus8 is part of my heart. This remix has dark and psychedelic sounds, bringing you to a far off and unknown planet. Simply wonderful.

M.R.E.U.X – Dark Mind (Ben Sims Remix)

It was an honour to work back-to-back with Ben on this fantastic EP. A heartbreakingly good remix with rhythm and percussion that lets you dance in the centre of the dancefloor and doesn’t give you any pause. A great milestone in my artistic life and released on a coloured vinyl  – a must-have!

Cleric & Kmyle – Empty Shells (James Ruskin Remix)

Blueprint style is old-school style, a great artist with a fantastic remix that brings you warmth and a chic groove. A master of the genre.

Steve Bicknell – Constant Movement (Oscar Mulero Remix)

Oscar is, without any doubt, a 100% effective producer. This remix is further proof of this, with its unique atmosphere and sound dimension that only Oscar could create. I love his style, maybe one day…

Mark Broom – Frontline (Robert Hood Re Plant Remix)

Detroit sound from one of the godfathers. An aggressive bass line and obsessive rhythm. History in the making!

Howling – Signs (Rødhad Remix)

I really like this version, with deep bass and chords that hug you – close your eyes and push it to the maximum volume. A great remix!

Terence Fixmer – Unforeseen (Steve Bicknell Remix)

From the darkness, you will arise! Steve is a living legend, and he’s going to be always part of my artistic life. A great remix as a pure underground statement – I’m in love with this stuff!

Fontaines D.C – Televised Mind (Dave Clarke Remix)

Wonderful remix, acid rhythms melting you like snow under the sun, and a solid bassline brings you to unknown pleasures as only a master like Dave is able to. Thanks for this pearl Dave Clarke, and thanks for being a master like you are!
