Listen to the first episode of the new season of Trailblazers: Electronic Pioneers, featuring Carl Cox


Eddy Temple-Morris and Nick HalkesTrailblazers: Electronic Pioneerspodcast has returned for another season, with the duo once again chating to a variety of individuals that helped change the electronic music world.

The series kicks off with a bang, with hosts Halkes and Temple-Morris interviewing legendary DJ Carl Cox, who discusses his childhood days selecting 7-inch records at family parties, providing the soundsystem for pivotal club night Shoom, his residency at Space Ibiza, and his many globe-trotting adventures.

Others to be featured across the course of this season are Roger Sanchez, drum ‘n’ bass legend Grooverider, Heaven 17 founder Martyn Ware, Coldcut trailblazer Jonathan More and many others.

Event discovery platform Skiddle has been named as the partner of the new Trailblazers series.

Both Halkes and Temple-Morris are well known names within the music industry with Halkes best known for his work driving the success of the XL Recordings and Positiva Labels (where he signed the The Prodigy, SL2, Bucketheads and Reel 2 Real), and Temple-Morris being best known as a radio and TV presenter (Virgin Radio, Radio One, MTV, XFM, Channel 4), alongside writing and co-producing music used by TV shows Game of Thrones and CSI.

“Nick and I have always seen our podcast as a rolling legacy project, to give people a free and easily accessible archive to capture and preserve the stories behind electronic music which has changed the lives of millions of people around the world,” Temple-Morris commented.

“Our first three seasons generated a loyal following of fans, and now Skiddle are invaluable collaborators to continue the journey, allowing us to merge the two paths and keep making more stops along this fascinating road.”

Season four, produced in association with London-based production company, Audio Culture, will feature eight new episodes, released weekly from 13 October to 8 December. Each podcast will be available across all platforms, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Podchaser and more.
